Shipping policy
Every bottle is packed by hand and sent with Australia Post's dedicated wine and alcohol service. All consignments are tracked.
Shipping is free on every order.
Delivery is free to any location Australia-wide, on every order, with no minimum spend and no surcharges.
Minimum order
Online orders start at 4 bottles. Orders can be mixed items. Checkout is not possible below a 4-bottle order.
Every order ships in a dedicated cardboard freight carton.
No maximum order applies.
Where we ship
We deliver Australia-wide, with a few exceptions:
-
We can't deliver to PO boxes, parcel lockers or Parcel Collect points. By law alcohol must only be handed to a person aged 18 or over, so a street address (home or work) is required.
-
We cannot deliver to dry or restricted areas where alcohol delivery is prohibited by law, including declared restricted areas in the Northern Territory and parts of Western Australia and Queensland. If your order falls in a restricted area, we'll contact you and refund it in full.
-
We don't ship outside Australia.
You must be 18 or over
It's against the law to supply alcohol to anyone under 18, and we take that seriously.
By ordering, you confirm you're 18 or over and that whoever receives the parcel is too.
Every parcel goes via Australia Post's wine and alcohol service, which means:
-
The delivery driver checks that the person accepting the parcel appears to be over 25 years of age.
-
If they do not look over 25, the driver will ask for photo ID showing the recipient is 18 or over — or scan their Digital ID through the Australia Post app. No ID, no delivery.
-
Deliveries in South Australia require a signed declaration on receipt, in line with SA liquor law.
-
Australia Post may refuse to hand over a parcel to anyone who appears intoxicated.
We may cancel and refund any order where we're not satisfied the recipient is of legal drinking age.
We don't leave alcohol unattended
Every order is delivered against a signature, with a proof-of-age check. Alcohol is never left on a doorstep, in a safe place or with a neighbour — not on request, and not at our discretion.
Someone aged 18 or over needs to be available to accept the parcel. If nobody is, Australia Post will leave a card or send a digital collection notice, and the parcel will be held at your nearest Post Office. Bring the card and photo ID showing you're 18 or over to collect it.
Uncollected parcels are returned to Green Cask.
It is worth choosing a delivery address where someone will be available to receive the order.
Delivery hours
You can order any time on any day.
Once your parcel is with Australia Post, delivery timing is as per standard parcel delivery times outlined on the Australia Post website. Delivery times are within the hours our liquor licence permits. No deliveries are made on Good Friday or Christmas Day.
Sending as a gift
If you are gifting our products, we can deliver to the recipient's address under the same rules for alcohol delivery as outlined herein.
Order processing
-
We pack and dispatch during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, excluding Victorian public holidays.
-
Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday are processed the following business day.
-
A confirmation email will be received upon purchase. A second email with Australia Post tracking details will be sent once your parcel is in transit.
-
Sale periods and the lead-up to Christmas are times where delays may be experienced at our end and with Australia Post services. We will advise of this on our website at times where this is likely to occur.
Delivery timeframes
Delivery times are set by Australia Post. Once your parcel is on its way, the tracking link in your dispatch email will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the status of your delivery.
As a rough guide, metro deliveries are typically quicker than regional and remote destinations. Western Australia and the Northern Territory typically take longer for items dispatched from Melbourne.
Weather, industrial action and remote-route schedules can potentially result in delivery delays that are beyond our control.
Larger orders.
We ship a maximum of six bottles per carton. Orders in excess of six bottles are split across multiple cartons. Occasionally, cartons sent as multiples may arrive a day or two apart. Please allow 2 days for the remaining items to arrive before contacting Green Cask.
How we pack
Four and six bottle cartons are used for shipping. Bottles are packed with dividers so that no shifting of items occurs during transit. All cartons are clearly labelled as fragile items.
Damaged, delayed or missing parcels
-
Breakages. Australia Post notifies us of breakages, so we often know before you do. If we are not informed of a breakage, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. A photograph of the bottle and the outer carton is needed for Green Cask to process a replacement or refund — an email without evidence is not sufficient to assess a claim.
-
Not arrived. If tracking hasn't moved for more than 7 business days, please notify us and we will contact Australia Post on your behalf.
-
Wrong or incomplete address. We will make every effort to amend a wrong or incomplete address before dispatch. Once the items are with Australia Post, redirection or return costs are incurred by the customer.
-
Refused delivery. If an individual aged 18 or over was not available to receive the parcel, or if ID wasn't produced upon request by the delivery driver, the parcel will be returned to us. We will then refund the order less the cost of return postage.
None of the conditions outlined above limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. For faulty or incorrectly supplied product, see our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Trade and wholesale
Wholesale and on-premise orders are handled directly, not through the online store. Email us at info@greencask.com.au and we'll organise freight and pricing to suit the order.
